What is Recognised by ILM?

Recognised by ILM is a professional recognition programme from International Lash Masters for lash artists, brow artists and educators who demonstrate the qualifications, experience and professional standards required for their chosen recognition pathway.

Your application and supporting evidence are individually reviewed against ILM's recognition criteria before recognition is granted.
What happens after I purchase?

Immediately after purchase, you'll receive a digital information pack containing a link to your relevant online application form.

Complete the application and upload the requested supporting evidence. Once your complete application has been received, ILM will begin the review process.
Does purchasing guarantee I will be recognised?

No. Recognition cannot simply be purchased.

Your payment covers your application, assessment and, if approved, your 12-month recognition and associated benefits.

All applicants must meet the relevant ILM recognition criteria before Recognised by ILM status is granted.
What evidence do I need to supply?

Evidence requirements vary depending on whether you are applying for Artist, Educator or Master Recognition.

Depending on your pathway, you may be asked to provide evidence such as professional qualifications, portfolio work, industry experience, insurance, training materials, student outcomes and other supporting documentation.

Your application form will clearly outline everything required for your chosen pathway.
How long will I be recognised for?

Your Recognised by ILM status is valid for 12 months from approval.

To continue using your Recognised by ILM status, seal and associated benefits after this period, your recognition will need to be renewed.
What do I receive if I'm approved?

Successful applicants receive their relevant Recognised by ILM digital seal and certificate, along with digital assets that can be used to communicate their recognised status across their website, social media and professional marketing.

Selected recognition pathways also include a premium printed certificate and enhanced directory benefits. Please refer to the inclusions listed on this product page for the benefits specific to your pathway.
Is there a renewal fee and process?

Yes. Recognised by ILM status is valid for 12 months from the date of approval. To maintain your recognition, you’ll be invited to renew annually at the applicable renewal fee.

The renewal process is simpler than the initial application and is designed to confirm that you continue to meet ILM’s professional standards. You may be asked to update key information such as your insurance, professional practice and any relevant changes to your qualifications or services.

If you choose not to renew, your Recognised by ILM status will expire. You will no longer be listed as currently recognised in the ILM Directory, your community access and member benefits will end, and you must discontinue use of the Recognised by ILM seal and any materials that represent you as currently recognised.

No. Recognition is earned, not simply purchased. Purchasing your chosen pathway begins the application and assessment process. Your application and supporting evidence must meet the relevant ILM recognition criteria before recognition is granted.
Requirements vary depending on your chosen recognition pathway. You may be asked to provide evidence including professional qualifications, portfolio work, industry experience, current insurance and professional practice. Educator and Master applicants will also be asked to provide relevant evidence relating to their education and training activities. Your application form will clearly outline everything required.
No. You do not need to have completed your original training with International Lash Masters. Applicants may hold relevant professional qualifications from other training providers.

ILM Master Recognition is for established professionals who actively work as both an artist and educator. Master applicants are assessed across both Artist and Educator recognition requirements and receive recognition across both areas of their professional practice.
Choose ILM Recognised Artist if you primarily provide professional lash or brow services to clients. Choose ILM Recognised Educator if you professionally train or educate lash and brow artists. If you actively work as both an artist and educator, choose ILM Master Recognition.
You'll have the opportunity to renew your Recognised by ILM status. Renewal allows you to continue using your recognition seal, maintain your directory presence and continue accessing the Recognised by ILM community and member benefits.
Yes. Your ILM Directory listing provides a way for clients, students and industry professionals to identify your current Recognised by ILM status.
